Insurance & Investment
INSURANCE
I am paneled with Blue Cross Blue Shield/CareFirst, Cigna and Hopkins EHP insurances. Each session, I will submit the claims for you and you will be responsible to pay for any portion not covered by your plan, as in a co-pay, deductible, etc.
For other insurance plans, I am considered an out-of-network provider. Your insurance company may cover all or some of my services. I recommend contacting your plan representative prior to scheduling an appointment to check your coverage and reimbursement rates. The questions below will help you with this phone call. At each session, you will pay me in full and I can provide you an invoice once a month so that you may seek reimbursement from your insurance company, if you have out-of-network benefits. Charges not covered by your insurance company are the client’s responsibility.
Some questions to discuss with your insurance carrier:
- Do I have out-of-network mental health benefits?
- What is my deductible and has it been met?
- How many psychotherapy sessions per year does my health insurance cover?
- What is the coverage amount per intake and therapy session? The CPT codes are 90791 & 90847 if requested.
- Is pre-authorization required from my primary care physician?
- Within what time period must the claim be submitted to the insurance company?
INVESTMENT
Your investment for the initial intake is $200.00 and is 60 minutes in length. Each subsequent session, which will last approximately 55 minutes, is $175.00. If you prefer to meet for extended sessions, which can be incredibly beneficial during EMDR or ITR reprocessing, this is available.
You are responsible for paying at the time of your session. I accept all major debit/credit cards.
REDUCED FEE/SLIDING SCALE
Reduced fee/sliding scale services are available on a limited basis.
PAYMENT
All major credit cards, Venmo and cash (please have the correct change) are accepted for payment, which is due at time of service provided.
GOOD FAITH ESTIMATE
Under the No Surprise Act, Out of Network providers are required to give clients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance, an estimate of the bill for medical items and services. Beginning in 2022, Believe Counseling will provide you with a written Good Faith Estimate.
